Where is Yoder Electric located?
We have multiple sales offices throughout Franklin and the surrounding counties. Our primary office is located at 7927 Memorial Drive in Plain City. From there, we handle and route all of our commercial electrical and residential assignments to our technicians.
How long have you been serving our community?
R&T Yoder Electric has been in operation for almost two decades. We opened our doors in 2004 and have grown to over 60 team members including commercial electricians, office support staff, our Service Department, and our friendly sales team.
Do you offer commercial electrician service contracts?
Yes, we will gladly discuss with your operations team the value of an ongoing commercial electric service contract. We work with companies and clients all over Central Ohio, providing them with the peace of mind they’re looking for. Do you do commercial electric “Design-Build” projects?

For new builds, when will a commercial electrician join the project?
From the very start of your build project Yoder Electric will be there. We will be on site at your project to set up temporary electric service, laying out the subterranean electrical pipe runs and more. We will also coordinate with the builders, HVAC technicians, plumbers and any other service technicians you may have on site to make sure the electrical part of your build stays on track. However, this isn’t the end of our involvement. Once the drywall and paint work is completed, we’ll then revisit your property. It’s at that time we’ll hang all the lighting fixtures, finish installing any necessary or planned devices, and install covers throughout your facility.
Do you offer commercial electric trenching or backfilling services?
The backbone of every commercial electric project is ensuring that your underground connections are installed properly. This consist of both trenching and backfilling services. Yoder Electric is proud to offer both of these services to our commercial electric customers. We use a mini excavator for larger projects. For smaller ones, we use a trencher. Our goal is to leave your landscaping as intact as possible, minimizing the damage while still providing quality commercial electric services. In addition, we’ve built relationships with utility companies across our region. As many of them bury their infrastructure, we’ll work closely with them to ensure that all safety measures are followed. In addition, if complex excavating is necessary, we’ll collaborate with those firms to ensure we comply with all Call Before You Dig guidelines.
Can your commercial electricians service municipal or facility light poles?
Yes, the Yoder Electric team has all of the necessary tools to service any kind of light pole. Our lifts allow us to reach commercial electric light poles of varying heights. We can also troubleshoot problems with your existing light pole infrastructure, replace blown or broken bulbs, and make adjustments as necessary to these types of fixtures.
Does your team offer commercial electric lighting retrofit services?
Yes, we can and have worked with various industries across our region to retrofit their existing light fixtures with more power-efficient LED systems. Some of the clients we’ve worked with include car dealerships, parking lots, and business showrooms among others.
Which is better for a facility: LED or traditional lighting?
Lighting solutions have changed significantly over the past several decades. While residential homes often used incandescent lighting, a common fixture for commercial facilities was fluorescent lighting. However, like incandescent lighting for homes, fluorescent lighting had its own problems. Energy usage was often relatively high, some individuals are particularly sensitive to fluorescent lighting, and replacing blown bulbs was often a pain due to the frequency with which they would blow. LED lighting has made major inroads, both with residential and commercial electric setups. Today, LED lighting is commonplace. It provides a more cost-effective and power-saving solution for commercial facilities. In short, LED has significant benefits over traditional lighting and is an upgrade we highly recommend to all of our commercial electric customers.
